We are researchers curious about complex systems, artificial intelligence, and swarm robotics.

Projects

Swarmalators:  are mobile oscillators whose external movements are internal phase dynamics are coupled. They are toy models for the many systems with an interplay between swarming (self-organization in space) and synchronize (self-organization in time) such as Japanese tree frogs, magnetic domain walls, and magnetic colloids. We are broadly curious if this dual kind of pattern formation -- what kind of collective patterns can they display, and how might these be harnessed for applications?

Swarmalator control of robot swarms:  if we endow robots with an internal phase variable -- a "sync knob" -- can we use it to control  the swarm?

Symbolic mathematics: can you use reinforcement learning to solve math equations?
